New Year

Our New Year’s Weekend:
Tom totally recovered, Jill a new woman without anxiety issues! We are really back on track now!!! Ready to ring in our second New Year together…….
We received relaxing spa packages to begin our evening of celebration. Full herbal body scrubs, hot oil massages side by side, an invigorating herbal steam room, and fresh watermelon and lemongrass tea set us off into a state of bliss and nirvana. FINALLY ready to enjoy our night at Mi Casa – yes, our favorite restaurant in Chiang Mai- we set out for a tuk tuk ride in the open air to our tucked away haven of charming ambience, divinely prepared Mediterranean cuisine, and a joyful staff always welcoming us back with huge grins. Our dinner was superb, the margaritas have never tasted better, and the multiple course feast put Jill and Tom right at home. After toasting champagne with the owners, we glanced at our watches and exclaimed “11:15”! We must go!!! We hailed a tuk tuk again (this time to FREEZE on the way back to our neck of the woods), holding each other tightly (55 degree weather is extremely cold for Thailand, you guys) we hopped off at a friend’s internet café to rock out with the live band, dancing up until our midnight kiss. We hooked our iPod to the system and blasted a few of our favorite tunes, drawing a crowd of joyous whiskeyed up dancers on the streets of Chiang Mai.
New Year’s Day consisted of recovering and cruising around on our motorbike into the outskirts of the city, viewing the picturesque hills while enjoying the unpolluted air.
So, the Prancers will pack up their bags soon. We have a one way ticket out of this town which has served us well. Next mission: Khon Kaen, Thailand, the gateway to the Northeast of the country and home of the Issan region. We will be visiting a friend of a friend, staying in their home and will experience the life of the Thai in the Northeast. Stay tuned…………. For more adventure!!!
