Our Christmas Pics

Our Christmas celebration wasn’t quite what we envisioned. As if just being in Thailand and away from our families wasn’t enough to make it unusual, that coupled with our recent health struggles made for a day of puzzled stares at our watches reminding us that Christmas day was here. Gloomy weather and Jill’s battle with an anxiety attack - spurred by watching King Kong on Christmas Eve – resulted in a “pranceless” day of Christmas joy. We had to leave King Kong with about 20 minutes to go because the combination of Dolby Surround Sound and Peter Jackson’s rendition of the 1933 thriller sent Jill running out of the theatre to catch her breath. So for Christmas, Jill faced her fears by returning to the theatre to catch what we missed the night before. The photo-booth pictures attached are of us walking around the mall after the movie. Our Christmas Day ended with a walk around the Sunday Market and foot massages with a light “winter” mist on our faces. Despite our depiction – and that Thailand is mostly Buddhist – there was actually a lot of Christmas celebration throughout Chiang Mai. A very festive location for us travelers…
