The Mysterious Fruit Defeated

Okay, so this may look a bit childish to some...but this "game" started out while we sat down to break from a hot hike. While sitting on some rocks, we noticed a strange fruit in front of us hanging on the tree. From here, the story begins:

Tom, perhaps missing his sporting days of old, picks up a nearby rock and hurls it at the fruit in hopes to knock it down. Failing miserably, he laughs, reaches for another and looks in for the sign. Observing the childish giggles coming from Tommy's direction, Jill picks up her very own rock and takes her own try at knocking down the mysterious fruit. She too can not bring down the mighty beast to the ground...so the battle continued. After many attempts by The Prancers to send this baby down to the ground, the fruit continued to hang by its branch and taunt tom and jill with its strength. Gritting his teeth, Tom decides to pick up two last rocks and exclaim, "If I don't knock it down with one of these rocks, we'll leave it alone and take off." Sticking to his guns, he winded up and gave it his best shot. A good stick, but no dice. So here it was, their last rock. Would they win the game of absolute stupidity or would they walk back to their tent in defeat? Acting as if he somewhat resembled Chris Carpenter, Tom reeled up and fired the rock with all his might. Dead on, the rock pierced the fruit at its most delicate point and sent the odd looking piece down to the ground. Partly stunned - and honestly, half shocked his arm didn't fall off from the ridiculous effort he gave towards the quest - The Prancers hooted and hollared at successfully unleashing the fruit from its tree. Upon further review, the fruit looked to be an odd combination of avocado and pineapple...but after looking at it more closely, it was not edible. Darn the luck for The Prancers. After winning the match, they had nothing to show for their efforts except some pictures and a weird story to post on their blog site!!! (smile)

Okay, seriously, this just goes to show you the silly things one does while traveling for over 3 months. There are only so many card games you can play before you start looking for something new. Here is a perfect, yet odd, example of how we find alternative ways to occupy our time.
